Don't alienate your friends and family - how to market your products without becoming a nuisance! Networking for Direct Marketers & Sales Professionals.

Jerk-free Social Media Promotion

We ALL have that one friend or family member… and maybe have been the friend or family member – who starts a direct sales or other independent contractor business and is told to promote themselves online. So, they-who-shall-remain-nameless-(you) sign up for ALL the social media accounts and adds EVERYONE and promotes 8 times a day all of the miracle products that they know everybody needs. Every. Day.

And every gathering of friends or family becomes their opportunity to sell their shit really great stuff.

Now, hear me out. This probably isn’t about you. Or it probably is. Examine how you feel about it, and really whether a grain of this could apply to you. Now, breathe. You’re not dead yet. That ping of adrenaline didn’t kill you, but may have pissed you off.

And that’s ok. That’s the good news. Even if you’re pretty sure the above description doesn’t apply to you, your subconscious says something rings true.

Here’s what you can do to:

  • Improve Your Quality Leads.
  • Market Your Business.
  • Tick Off Fewer of Your Favorite People!

To make the math easy, we’ll boil it down to 10.
For each ONE self-promotion post you share on whichever social media platform you’re on (other than YouTube – which will be in a future article) make sure you’re sharing 4 things that someone else is promoting that your people would find useful. Share another 4 things that are just amusing or helpful. Share 1 thing about someone doing some good charity work.

Then… and only then can you promote your next big thing.

Here’s why…

In the first example before the adrenaline ping, your people have mentally muted you, if not actually silenced you or removed you from their feed. If your every moment online is “HEY BUY MY STUFF” – people are tired of all the ads and are actually blind to them, if it isn’t something they’re searching for.

By being useful, amusing, and genuinely helpful, you remain that good acquaintance, friend, colleague, etc – and they will still want to see what you share and will come to you when they’re ready to buy.

Try it out, see how it works for you… and then, think about joining the upcoming workshop for independent contractors, party hosts, direct sellers.
